We are pleased to announce that we are in the process of planning our fifth annual US Reinsurance Under 40s Educational Tour.

As many of you are aware, we have had an annual RU40 tour, since 2012, to (re)insurance hubs around the world. Our first tour was London in 2012, followed by Munich/Zurich in 2013, Bermuda in 2014, and, we returned to London in 2015. Please follow links for detailed reports on each tour.

The 2016 Tour will take place in Miami and the Cayman Islands from April 10th through April 15th, 2016.

We are very excited about the 2016 Tour and hope that you are as well. This year, our focus will be the Latin American and Captive Markets; all presenting their own opportunities and challenges. We are in the planning stages and already have commitments from Greenlight Re & Marsh in the Cayman Islands, who has agreed to host our group for a presentation and are working with companies in Miami including Amlin, Validus Re, Willis Re and Odyssey Re. Other meetings are in the process of being set up with insurers, reinsurers, brokers, law firms, regulators, and consultants within our industry.

The Tour will provide a great opportunity to network and learn about the (re)insurance marketplaces in Miami and Cayman Islands. While we are confident that the trip will be fun, the primary objective of the Tour will be educational, and we expect that everyone will be committed to the final agenda.

The Tour will meet in Miami on Sunday, April 10th. On Wednesday, we will fly to Cayman. The tour ends on Friday. An early estimate of the overall trip cost ranges from $2,750 to $3,250, depending of the number of tour members. We are in the process of finding additional sponsors and hosts in Miami and Cayman Islands, which will minimize the out-of-pocket costs to all of us. The above figure is a conservative one, as we are hoping the meal cost will be lowered through sponsorship.

The RU40s encourages members from all corners of the reinsurance industry including underwriters, brokers, actuaries, legal professionals, risk managers, and claims handlers. However, should the Trip be over-subscribed, we reserve the right to select candidates according to our own criteria.
