Join the RU40s and Gamma Iota Sigma Alumni Network while you Volunteer Event!!!
When: Saturday May 5th, 11am-2pm
Join Friends of + POOL and Riverkeeper for a cleanup of South Street Seaport (12 Fulton Street, New York, NY) on Saturday May 5, 2018 for the 7th Annual Riverkeeper Sweep, a day of service for the Hudson River and its tributaries.
Where: Volunteers will meet outside of the South Street Seaport Museum at 2 Fulton Street, New York, NY.
What to bring: We ask all Sweep volunteers to wear sturdy shoes or boots, clothing that they can get dirty, and to bring a hat, sunscreen, a reusable water bottle and snacks. If possible, please bring gardening or sturdy gloves.
What: Activities will include planting, watering, weeding, mulching, and pruning. We’ll be helping the park prepare an area for compost bins, which will include light raking and shoveling. We’ll also assist with rubbish collection and removal. Each activity will be supervised by a member of the park staff who will work alongside us and be available to answer any questions and provide direction and assistance when needed.
Why:This is a great opportunity to literally get your hands dirty with other (re)insurance industry professionals. Sweep volunteers will get ample exercise and fresh air, all while supporting a great cause.
