Madhuri (Maddy) Kumar is a reinsurance actuary & SVP with the analytics team at Guy Carpenter NYC. Before joining GC, she supported re/insurers in structured reinsurance, risk exposure analytics, economic and regulatory capital, street pricing, Investments, reserving and climate risk modelling in a range of insurance markets. She works as a research volunteer for international actuarial and industry working groups including Solvency II, DEI, climate risk and Atlantic hurricanes. Outside of an actuarial and finance background, she holds qualifications in Wines and Climate risk & Sustainability.

Fred Wheadon - Vice President
Senior Broker in Retrocession & Property Specialty, Lockton Re
Fred is a Senior Broker within Lockton Re’s Retrocession and Property Specialty team. Fred joined Lockton Re in London in September 2020, from Aon. At Lockton Re Fred supports clients by structuring and placing proportional and non-proportional reinsurance and retrocession protections for both Catastrophe and single risk exposures. Fred completed the Advanced Diploma in Insurance (ACII) in 2019 and gained the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in July 2021. Since August 2022, Fred has been based in Lockton Re’s New York office, working more closely with Retrocession and Property Specialty clients based in the USA, while studying part-time for an MBA at NYU Stern.

Bob Liu is a Vice President at Atlas SP Partners, a subsidiary of Apollo Global Management. He focuses on Residential Mortgage Securitization, Warehouse Lending, and Portfolio Management. Prior to this role, he worked for Aon Reinsurance Solutions where he placed Credit Risk Transfer treaties for GSEs, mortgage insurance companies, and banks.
Bob has over 10 years of professional experience working across insurance, reinsurance, and banking industries. He graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration from University of Texas at Austin and holds the CPCU designation. Bob started his career as an Auto Claims Adjuster at State Farm Insurance in Austin, Texas.

Steve Hiott is Vice President of Gallagher Re's North American Cyber Team in the New York production department at Gallagher Re. Steve grew up in Birmingham, AL before graduating from the University of Alabama with Bachelor’s Degrees focused in Economics and Philosophy. Prior to Gallagher, Steve spent six years as a reinsurance broker at Holborn Corporation.
Steve plays an essential role in helping to manage and intermediate client’s cyber-specific reinsurance programs. Steve has earned his Associates in Reinsurance and Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter designations and is currently pursuing his CFA designation. Steve spends his spare volunteering with the University of Alabama Alumni Association (New York City Chapter) as acting president.
Carlos A. Matos - Technology Co-Chair
VP Casualty Treaty Underwriter, SiriusPoint
Carlos is currently a VP Casualty Treaty Underwriter at SiriusPoint in New York City, having joined in April 2024. He previously worked at QBE Re, spending 7+ years servicing their casualty treaty portfolio. He also has had experience working in QBE Re’s professional lines and multi-line areas as well. Carlos has been a member of RE40s since 2016, and he joined the board in 2018. He has served different roles within the RE40s organization. He has earned his CPCU and ARe designations, and is currently pursuing his Construction Risk and Isurance Specialist designation with IRMI.
Prior to joining QBE Re, Carlos attended St. John's University, earning the Diploma in Risk and Insurance at The Peter J. Tobin College of Business. Additionally, Carlos has a Bachelors of Science in Resource Economics with a minor in Business Fundamentals from the University of Connecticut.

He has been in the Insurance Industry for roughly 10 years and holds a CRIS designation as well as a Property and Casualty producer license. Shane graduated from Roger Williams University in 2014 with degrees in Marketing and Management. Brendan Hillin - Education Co-Chair

Brendan Hillin is currently a Marine Underwriter at Munich Re providing risk transfer solutions to clients across the US. Prior to joining Munich Re, he completed the Graduate Program at Swiss Re, a training and rotation program designed to learn from and work with various departments within the organization and obtained his Bachelor of Science in Mathematics with a minor in Economics from Fordham University. Brendan is an active member of the American Institute of Marine Underwriters (AIMU), the Inland Marine Underwriters Association (IMUA) and currently also serving on the American Marine Insurance Forum (AMIF) Board as a Program/Event Director. His appointment as Education Co-Chair is his first position on the Reinsurance Under 40s Board.
Alexander Torske - Education Co-Chair

Alexander Torske has been with Munich Re since 2017. He currently works as a Property Treaty Underwriter for Munich Re US under the Global Clients / North America division based out of NYC. Prior to Property Treaty underwriting, he spent two years as a Graduate Trainee completing rotations and projects for various Munich Re business units such as American Modern Insurance Group- product development, Insuretech, Ocean Marine, Casualty Facultative, and central US P&C entities including Reserving, Strategy, and Claims. Alexander studied Finance and Economics at McGill University and holds CPCU and ARe designations.

Andrew Marine is a Senior Casualty Treaty Reinsurance Underwriter at SompoRe. I specialize in traditional casualty lines of Workers' Compensation, General Liability, Automobile Liability, and Excess Liability with further background in Cyber Liability. I attended Quinnipiac University from 2015 to 2019, received my BS in Business Management in May 2018 and MBA in May 2019. I have been working in reinsurance for 5+ years now and in that time have been to many Reinsurance Under 40 Events. I am honored and privileged to be on the Social Events Committee for the 2024-2025 term and look forward to helping plan and coordinate more events for industry professionals to participate in and benefit from.

Hunter graduated Cum Lade from Elon University with a B.A. in Finance and minors in Economics in Sales. He holds the Are designation and is a licensed P&C broker.
Kevin English - Social Co-Chair

Kevin is an underwriter working in the US Treaty Casualty team for Liberty Mutual Reinsurance in Stamford, CT. Prior to joining the reinsurance industry, Kevin obtained a degree in Economics & Finance from University College Dublin in Dublin, Ireland. Joining LMRe in 2021 in the graduate development program, Kevin has had the opportunity to rotate throughout all underwriting and functional teams within LMRe US and has also spent a summer working for LMRe’s International Treaty Property team in London, UK. Now moving into his full time role in the US Treaty Casualty team, Kevin is excited to learn more about the market and look to utilize skills he’s learned across different lines. Kevin also obtained an Associate in Reinsurance in the fall of 2022.

Daniel has been with Munich Re since 2021 as a member of the International Graduate Trainee program. In that position, Daniel completed rotations in all different Lines of Business and departments while working towards his CPCU designation. Now that his program is complete, Daniel achieved the role of Cyber Reinsurance Underwriter focusing mainly on quantifying cyber exposure growth within the portfolio using his wide range of data analytics skills, and contributing to clients relationship. Previously, Daniel interned for Grupo ODEM and Munich Re, both in Mexico City, as well as Suno Research in São Paulo, Brazil. Daniel received his Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Business Administration from Rutgers University – New Brunswick. He is also fluent in Spanish and Portuguese.

James (Jimmy) Marshall joined Acrisure Re in January of 2023. He is currently a Graduate Broker on the account management team, supporting production through all stages of placement and operations associated with both new and renewal business. Consistent with the expertise of Acrisure Re, Jimmy has experience serving a diverse range of clients from Start-Up MGAs with novel products to publicly traded carriers with unique requirements.

Kar Leng is a pricing actuary in the Structured Solutions team at Swiss Re. She helps to price large tailored transactions for clients in the Americas, providing both retrospective and prospective solutions for those looking to optimize capital, manage earnings volatility and build operational efficiency. Prior to this role, she was in Group Internal Audit driving reviews across actuarial, underwriting, and risk management areas. She has 8 years of actuarial and management consulting experience before joining Swiss Re in 2021. Kar Leng hails from Malaysia and is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society.

Kali started with Swiss Re in June of 2018 and is currently based in Schaumburg, IL. She started her career at Swiss Re through the graduates@swissre program where she worked in Large Loss Management and completed job rotations in both underwriting and claims. She spent 3.5 years in treaty underwriting on the Broker Regional 1 Client Markets team supporting several regional clients from both a property and casualty perspective and was a member of the US Broker Regional 1 Florida team. She currently works in the Globals division as a Senior Client Manager where she is responsible for managing global client relationships, managing a cross functional team, and driving a dedicated strategy to deliver customized solutions that fit her client's needs. Kali graduated from Florida State University with her B.S. in Risk Management & Insurance and Human Resources Management in Fall of 2017.

Catherine is a Vice President and Casualty Facultative Certificate Underwriter at Munich Re, based in Chicago. She began her career in 2009 with W.R. Berkley and has held various underwriting roles at Catlin, AmTrust E&S and The Hartford / Navigators prior to joining Munich Re in 2022. She has completed the CPCU designation as well as AINS, AU and ASLI from The Institutes, and the CRIS (Construction Risk Insurance Professional) and TRIP (Transportation Risk Insurance Professional) designations from IRMI. In her first year, Payton gained experience with the International Claims team and the Treaty Caribbean Underwriting team, both based in Miami, Florida.
Payton graduated from Florida State University in Spring 2023 with a B.S. in Risk Management & Insurance. Since then, she has earned the ARe designation and is currently pursuing her CPCU. She is also actively involved in the Everest Charitable Committee as the Global Branch Liaison Coordinator and serves on the Executive Board of the Miami Seminole Club, part of the FSU Alumni Association.
