The U.S. ReUnder 40s group is participating in the Riverkeeper Sweep and we hope you will join us!

On October 10, Riverkeeper will be cleaning up the shoreline of East River Park in Manhattan. There are two coves in the park that attract a lot of rubbish from the passing East River. We have done shoreline cleanups at this site as part of Riverkeeper's Annual Sweep for many years, but trash has accumulated at the site and it could use a cleanup before winter.

If left on the shore, debris can submerge during a high tide and become marine debris, which threatens our river wildlife. The most common items we remove from shorelines are Styrofoam, plastic bottles and plastic bags, which all pose significant risks to our natural environment.

Where: E 6th Street & FDR Drive, New York, NY
When: 12pm-2pm, Saturday Oct 10th
What to bring: Wear sturdy shoes or boots, clothing you don't mind getting a little dirty. Bring a hat, sunscreen, a reusable water bottle. Please bring work gloves if you have them.
